Burcot Farm Solar Park
Burcot Farm is in South Oxfordshire, in the Parish of Clifton Hampden and Burcot, with access points from both the A415 and B4015.
About the project:
45 MW solar PV scheme and 49.99 MW battery storage system
Biodiversity net gain: 63% habitat, 31% hedgerows
Community benefit fund: £12,500 per year, index-linked, to Burcot and Clifton Hampden for priority community projects
Approximately 10,371 tonnes CO2 saving per annum
Equivalent of over 16,842 homes powered
The site will be well screened with existing vegetation and new planting
Over 1.5km new native hedgerows with meadows created between panel arrays
Continued agricultural use with sheep grazing
Land fully restored to former condition – or better – after 40 years
Nearby footpaths won’t be impacted
Solar income will support the farm with diversification allowing sustainable farming to continue on the rest of the land
Glint & glare has been fully assessed and will have no impact on residents or road users
Lithium ion batteries are widely used in phones, laptops & electric vehicles. A full fire risk assessment has been undertaken
Acoustic fencing and existing trees will ensure there is no noise impact from batteries
